NAIT Ltd

NAIT Ltd is the official NAIT organisation as per the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012. The NAIT programme provides the national animal identification and traceability system.

TBfree Ltd

TBfree NZ Ltd is the statutory management agency for the National Bovine Tuberculosis Pest Management Plan, as per the Biosecurity Act 1993 and the Biosecurity (National Bovine Tuberculosis Pest Management Plan) Order 1998. The TBfree programme aims to eradicate bovine TB from New Zealand.

Mycoplasma bovis Eradication Programme

The M. bovis programme is being administered under a Government Industry Agreement (GIA) between the three programme partners, Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), Beef + Lamb New Zealand, and DairyNZ.

We deliver the day-to-day operational and disease control functions of the programme.

We play a key role in:

  • developing policy and technical guidelines
  • providing system and database support and management
  • delivering livestock traceability and undertaking traceback for food safety and disease response
  • supporting industry quality assurance through animal health and traceability initiatives
  • undertaking animal health monitoring and surveillance
  • delivering operational pest management
  • implementing extension and community engagement programmes.

Strategic priorities

The OSPRI Strategic Plan 2019-2024 sets out our strategic direction and priorities. The Plan was developed by OSPRI’s Board and Stakeholders’ Council with input from funders.

The Plan is based on the OSPRI Strategic Framework. The framework describes 7 impacts that OSPRI will achieve in the upcoming years. These impacts will be measured and monitored using a core set of 13 key performance indicators. Each element of the OSPRI Strategic Framework is described in more detail throughout the plan.
