Latest update

At 12 March 2024:

  • we have 17 herds with a TB infected status across the country, and 9 of these herds have completed their first clear whole-herd test.

About the herds

Infected herds:

  • have had at least 1 animal confirmed to have TB
  • have not yet had sufficient testing or inspection of slaughtered animals to rule out continued presence of TB within the herd.

Infected herds will be reclassified at 'Clear' TB status when they've had 2 successive whole-herd tests clear of TB, no less than 6 months apart.

Herds under investigation:

  • have had positive on-farm tests
  • are considered to have been exposed to significant infection risk, but TB has not yet been confirmed.
