Latest update

At 18 September 2026 we have 16 herds with a TB-infected status across the country:

About the herds

Infected herds have:

  • had at least one animal confirmed to have TB
  • not yet had sufficient testing or inspection of slaughtered animals to rule out continued presence of TB within the herd.

Infected herds will be reclassified at 'Clear' TB status when they've had two successive whole-herd tests clear of TB, no less than six months apart.

Herds under investigation:

  • have had positive on-farm tests
  • are considered to have been exposed to significant infection risk, but TB has not yet been confirmed.
