We have extended the timeframes for updating NAIT to help ease some of the pressure on farmers and other People in Charge of Animals (PICAs) in any location with a declared State of Emergency or red weather warning as per Metservice.
This extension remains in place until 48 hours after the local state of emergency.
Register as a PICA within 48 hours of the local state of emergency.
Declare animal movements within 48 hours of the local state of emergency.
Animals that arrive untagged must be tagged and registered within 48 hours of the local state of emergency.
Where possible, you should check if any NAIT tags have been lost or misplaced.
Declare animal deaths and losses within 48 hours of the local state of emergency.
