We have extended the timeframes for updating NAIT to help ease some of the pressure on farmers and other People in Charge of Animals (PICAs) in Northland, Whakatāne, Waikato and Ōpōtiki.
This extension remains in place until 48 hours after the local state of emergency or red weather warning is lifted, whichever is later.
Register as a PICA within 48 hours of the local state of emergency lifting, whichever is later.
Declare animal movements within 48 hours of the local state of emergency lifting.
Animals that arrive untagged must be tagged and registered within 48 hours of the local state of emergency lifting.
Where possible, you should check if any NAIT tags have been lost or misplaced.
Declare animal deaths and losses within 48 hours of the local state of emergency lifting.
