OSPRI is accepting applications for a Team Leader, Supervisor, Field Operations. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our North Island regional offices.

OSPRI is the livestock sector’s integrated disease management and traceability agency and a critical part of New Zealand’s agribusiness and food economy. OSPRI currently manages three major national programmes: TBfree (directed at the eradication of bovine tuberculosis), M.bovisfree (directed at attaining freedom from M.bovis) and NAIT (National Animal Identification and Tracing System).

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role:
As the Team Leader, Supervisor, Field Operations, you will lead a regional team of Supervisors, Field Operations, while working closely with the rest of the North Island team and stakeholders to deliver OSPRI’s programmes of work.
We’re looking for someone with a human-centred approach to leadership who can provide operational direction, exemplar project management and foster a strong One OSPRI culture.
In this role, you’ll be the primary point of contact for active field work inside and outside of OSPRI and provide technical and professional expertise. You will represent the regional nuances and requirements to ensure effective programme delivery, as well as support, train, and empower your direct reports to achieve their goals, ensuring priorities are aligned with OSPRI’s wider business goals, contributing to the creation of a productive and engaged culture.
A big part of this role will include overseeing Health and Safety standards in the field across aerial, ground, and vector control operations and reporting on operational activities, including contractor performance and activities.
Kōrero mōu - About you:
We’re looking for someone with strong planning and project management skills who has experience in pest management approaches and design. You’ll be someone who works independently with a proven ability to meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities. Your focus on continuous improvement and your ability to bring actionable insights will be highly valuable. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about operational excellence.
You will possess a collaborative working style and be a team player. You will be self-organised, and delivery focussed ensuring that under your leadership and guidance, the Service Delivery work programme is delivered to a high standard.
