At Alert Levels 3 and 4
We have extended NAIT reporting timeframes to give farmers some breathing room especially if facing delays with transporters and meat processing.
These timeframes apply from today until Thursday 2 September and will be reviewed then.
- Time to register as a person in charge of animals (PICA) or PICA delegate extends from 48 hours to 5 business days.
- Declaration of an animal movement extends from 48 hours to 5 business days. Tag and register requirements still apply.
- Animal exit declaration extends from 48 hours to 5 business days.
- If receiving untagged animals, the timeframe to tag the animal extends from 48 hours to 5 business days.
- All reporting and error notification requirements for NAIT accreditation standards, and the tag manufacturer/device standard have been extended to 5 business days.
TB testing by AsureQuality will continue as planned, with additional precautions in place to keep the testers and farmers safe. If testing needs to be reduced, activities will be prioritised to target areas at higher risk of infection.
We are reviewing our pest control operations to assess which operations are able to go ahead under various alert levels. We are working with our contractors, the Department of Conservation and Ministry of Primary Industries on next steps.
Case management of TB infected herds and farmer support will continue via phone and email.
