An overview of MyOSPRI

In MyOSPRI you can create farm-to-farm Animal Status Declarations (ASDs) for cattle, sheep or deer.

When you fill in the form you can:
• get more information about what you need to do by selecting the question mark beside a field - help text slides out from the right of the screen
• send electronic copies of the ASD to the person receiving your animals, if you know their email address
• enter details of a livestock transporter, if you're using one.

When you've completed an ASD, you can:
• download and print it
• edit or cancel it.

You can also manage your profile - for example, update your address or add a new phone number.

If you need help you can:
• select the Need help button at the bottom left of the screen to go to the Help information on our website, or
• phone us on 0800 482 463.

Until the end of 2021 or early 2022 you will still use the eASD system or paper forms for farm-to-meat processor ASDs.

You still need to use paper forms for:

  • pig ASDs
  • farm-to-saleyard ASDs.

This means that for the coming months we're running 2 systems for ASDs. If you use eASD and MyOSPRI you need 2 separate logins.

Our plans for MyOSPRI

Our future goal is for you to be able to complete all your OSPRI-related tasks — ASDs, NAIT and TBfree — through the MyOSPRI system. During 2022 we'll add more NAIT functionality. Find out when other tasks will become part of MyOSPRI.

Signing up for MyOSPRI

When you sign up, use an email address to create your username, and use this whenever you log in to MyOSPRI.

When you sign up for MyOSPRI you need to set up a new account, even if you already have logins for other OSPRI systems, such as eASD or NAIT.

To ensure we can verify your identity and make sure you can't be confused with any other user:

  • you must be the only person who uses your email address in MyOSPRI — this also helps us trace the activities on your account
  • we ask for your date of birth — you also provide this when you register as a Person in Charge of Animals (PICA) in NAIT.

Verification email

As part of the signing up process we send a verification email to the email address you sign up with. If you don't receive this, first check your spam folder as it may be in there, then call or email us for help.

Using the online help

If there is something you're not sure of, select the question mark icon beside a field to get online help. You can always call or email us if you're still not sure how to complete the ASD form.

What ASDs are

ASDs transfer important information about an animal, or group or animals, to the next Person in Charge of the Animals (PICA) or to the meat processor. The information helps with controlling animal diseases such as bovine TB, and also helps to ensure we export high quality animals.

You must complete an ASD when you:

  • move animals between properties or to a saleyard
  • send animals to slaughter.

Managing ASDs in MyOSPRI

You can use MyOSPRI to create ASDs, and then:

  • edit them
  • cancel them
  • download or print them.

The online ASD form is very similar to the paper form, so you'll need to have all the same information ready to enter when you create an ASD in MyOSPRI.
