How to register as a Person in Charge of Animals (PICA)
Before you can complete any tasks in NAIT, you need to register yourself as a Person in Charge of Animals (PICA).
Register as a PICA
Follow these steps.
- 1 From any page on our website, select Register with NAIT at the top right. This takes you to the home page of NAIT.
- 2 To set up your account, select the blue link, Register and create an account now.
- 3 Choose a username and password. You'll use this every time you access your account.
- 4 Fill in your name, date of birth and trading name, if you have one.
- 5 Add your contact details and personal information. For your registration as a PICA, enter information about you, not your farm. Your physical and postal address may be different to the address of your farm.
- 6 Enter your email address. If you don't have one, call our Contact Centre to register on 0800 482 463.
- 7 Select the email notifications you want to receive.
- 8 Check the boxes to accept the terms of use and confirm the information you've entered is correct.
- 9 Choose Register to save this information and complete your registration as a PICA.
Register your location
Now you've set yourself up as PICA in NAIT, you need to register the locations where you keep your animals. Doing this gives you your NAIT location number which you'll need when you move animals between different properties.
