The device standards set out your responsibilities towards cattle and deer.

First, you'll need to reserve the NAIT visual Identifier (visual ID) for each NAIT RFID tag. This avoids duplication of visual IDs across all accredited tag manufacturers. You can then perform a tag upload in the NAIT system.

You will not be able to upload any NAIT visual IDs without first reserving for your tag manufacturing company.

Reserving a tag visual ID

To reserve a tag visual ID, you'll need to know:

  • the NAIT visual tag number
  • the industry code (if applicable)
  • the NAIT number
  • your organisation's name
  • whether the tag is a replacement.

Uploading a tag

To upload a tag, you'll need to know:

  • the issue date
  • The unique RFID number
  • the NAIT visual tag ID
  • whether the tag is a duplicate
  • the tag category (cattle or deer)
  • the industry code (if applicable)
  • the NAIT number
  • the manufacturer reference number
  • the product code for your company (A)
  • the product code for your company (B)
  • the production type of the tag.

You can reserve and upload tags by uploading a CSV file into NAIT, or by using external software to connect with NAIT.
