NAIT reporting timeframes extended in Tairāwhiti and Hawke's Bay

With many farmers still recovering from Cyclone Gabrielle, we have extended NAIT reporting timeframes.

We have extended the timeframes for updating NAIT to help ease some of the pressure on farmers and other People in Charge of Animals (PICAs) in the areas mentioned below:

This extension expires on the 28 April 2023. Until this date, you now have the following timeframes to provide the following NAIT information.

Register as a PICA within 5 days of becoming a PICA.

Animal movements

Declare animal movements within 5 days after the movement ends.

Untagged animals

Animals that arrive untagged must be tagged and registered within 5 days after animal movement ends.

Where possible, you should check if any NAIT tags have been lost or misplaced.

Dead and missing animals

Declare animal deaths and losses within 5 days of the animal death or loss.
