Set up locations so you can create Animal Status Declarations

Before you can create an Animal Status Declaration (ASD) in MyOSPRI, you need to set up your locations.

Setting up your locations in MyOSPRI now also means that when we introduce traceability-specific information, we can match it to these locations.

Location means:

  • farm operation address and any additional pick-up addresses if you are a farmer
  • address of your lifestyle block if you are a lifestyler.

If you have multiple farms, or your farm has multiple NAIT numbers, you’ll need to set up multiple locations.

The person who creates a location is automatically assigned the role of location manager. You can only have one location manager for each location, and the role can’t be transferred to someone else.

How to work with farming roles in MyOSPRI

Setting up your farming location

To create a location:

  • log in to MyOSPRI
  • select Create location in left-hand menu
  • select the type of location you want to create (farm or lifestyle block) from the pop-up box
  • select Continue
  • enter farm details, including:
    • name and physical address of the farm
    • additional pickup addresses
    • stock types at the farm and their relevant industry codes (NAIT number, TB herd number and dairy participant codes)
  • select Continue
  • select Create location.

If you only have sheep on your property, you don’t need to include a NAIT number.

User selects Farm in Type of location dialogue box. The other option is Lifestyle.

User selects Continue, then enters a property name and address.

User selects Cattle for type of animal at their location. The other options are Deer and Sheep.

User enters NAIT number.

In the Cattle section, user enters 2 TBfree herd numbers then selects Continue.

User reviews details then selects Create location.

Confirmation box saying Location created appears.

Adding or removing a pickup address

To add a pickup address to a farm or lifestyle location:

  • log in to MyOSPRI
  • select Locations in left-hand menu or select the Manage locations tile on the home page
  • select the relevant location
  • select Edit location
  • select Add pickup address (if different from physical address)
  • enter address details
  • select Add address
  • repeat as necessary
  • set your default pickup address
  • select Update.

To remove a pickup address from a farm or lifestyle location:

  • log in to MyOSPRI
  • select Locations in left-hand menu or select the Manage locations tile on the home page
  • select the relevant location
  • select Edit location
  • make sure the address for deletion is not set as a default address
  • select the trashcan icon beside the address you want to remove
  • select Update.

Inviting a person to take up a role at a location

To invite a person to take up a role at a location:

  • log in to MyOSPRI
  • select Locations in left-hand menu or select the Manage locations tile on the home page
  • select the relevant location
  • select Location members
  • select Add member
  • enter email details of the person you are inviting
  • select Invite people
  • select pencil icon
  • tick the box by the role/s you want to assign
  • select Save.

Once the recipient accepts your invitation, they will be able to invite others to the location and assign them roles.

Changing a person's role at a location

To change a person's role:

  • log in to MyOSPRI
  • select Locations in left-hand menu or select the Manage locations tile on the home page
  • select the relevant location
  • select People & roles at top of page
  • select pencil icon beside member whose details you’d like to change
  • select or deselect the role for the person.

A box will pop up confirming your changes have been made successfully.

Deactivating a location

You can only deactivate a location if you are the person who created it (location manager role).

To deactivate a location:

  • log in to MyOSPRI
  • select Locations in left-hand menu or select the Manage locations tile on the home page
  • select the relevant location
  • select Edit location
  • select Farm settings tab
  • select Deactivate farm
  • select Yes, deactivate in the pop-up box.
